Welcome. However you found this page, I hope it’s part of your way forward.
Maybe you feel lost, stagnant, guilty, or unsure of exactly what you’re looking for - but you suspect something is missing. Perhaps your past is full of confusing or deeply painful moments you can’t quite face.
You may have wondered whether something is wrong with you - or whether you’re just a deep thinker in a complicated world.
You might suspect you should have sought therapy a long time ago. Or conversely, you may have had experiences with therapy in the past that felt shallow or even harmful.
Whatever brings you here, you’re not alone in these feelings. However, the root causes and specific details are unique. Self-help books and general advice likely are not getting to the heart of what you’re struggling with.
Relational psychotherapy can help you sort through everything. Within the practice space of a genuine connection with a therapist, you reconnect to yourself and the world. In fact, in the scientific literature, the client-therapist relationship is still the best predictor of good outcomes. The feeling we’re going for is that of companionship through the process - not being lectured or operated on, but actively heard and guided.
Whether they’re looking for healing or growth, the transformation my clients experience is wonderfully unique. Some discover they have become a healthier human or a better partner. Others realize their life is not as functional as they had thought and that they can make changes. Some people discover more about who they truly are and how to love and accept that person. Other goals and outcomes include finding new language for experiences, making space for grief, and redefining relationships to family and community. And yes, symptom relief often comes along with these changes.
About Therapy With Me
I believe in therapy because I’ve experienced its power firsthand - so much so that I decided to make it my life’s work.
In therapy, we’ll explore your inner and outer landscape to learn what you - uniquely - need in order to heal and thrive. This may involve learning coping tools, revising your life story, building secure attachment, doing active imagination and parts work, connecting your mind and body, or engaging in existential inquiry.
Therapy is a unique place where you get to bring your whole, complex self. We'll resist the temptation for quick and shallow solutions (though I'm a fan of small wins and distress reduction in the meantime). In time you can discover a sense of wholeness and peace.
